The definition of teamwork!
At the end of our week we did home visits to see what our community had learned. We assessed how they responded to our medical treatment and medications. Many of our families showed us that they were covering their water supply to prevent malaria.We spent time getting to know the culture, how they cooked, what they farmed and the dynamics of their family. I loved having a beautiful baby tied to my back!
In November, Global Medical Brigades at San Diego State University held a large fundraising event at a Multi-Cultural Center. We entertained while holding a silent auction and large raffle. Guests made handprints on paper. Close to $6,000 was raised toward our goal of 10,000. Guests enjoyed music, beverages, and food while raising awareness to a wonderful cause.
Each Member going to Ghana was responsible to get businesses in the area to donate items to our raffle and silent auction. We had a higher end raffle and lower end raffle. We have over 50 raffle items!
